Learn the 3 simple shifts in your marketing that will dramatically transform your music career...
From The Desk Of Lindsey Kirkendall
Nashville, TN.

Hey sister,

Have you ever woken up one morning and thought “Wow, I thought I would’ve been waaay further along in my music career by now”?

I thought I’d have more dollars in the bank…

I thought I’d be playing the venues of my dreams…

I thought my music would be supporting the lifestyle I've always
dreamed of…

Well, if you have, then this will be the most important letter you read in 2019.
Here's Why...
Before I tell you, I want you to do a quick exercise with me...

I want you to hold the image of your 10-year-old-self in your mind.

What did she envision her life was going to look like at this point?

If she could've seen into the future, would she be proud of where you are now?

If the answer is no, can you identify the reason why your life isn't what you'd envisioned?

If your answer includes anything that has to do with how "hard" the music industry is, I have good news...

I want you to know that there is a way for you to create the music career and lifestyle you dreamed of as a little girl…

A way to design your music career to serve the LIFE you want to have and not the other way around...

A way to make it happen that removes all the stumbling blocks that have stopped you from doing this until now.

An approach that allows independent artists to make hundreds of thousands more than the majority of the signed artists out there…

While maintaining complete creative control and growing a fanbase of raving superfans that will allow you to have the kind of career that supports the lifestyle YOU want to have:

On the road 300 dates a year or never touring at all…

Staying at home with babies or never doing the Mom thing…

Working with the traditional music industry or staying completely independent…

Sound interesting?
...

Hey, my name is Lindsey Kirkendall and I’m an artist coach + music business consultant in Nashville, TN.

My career started at 14 in sunny So Cal, after begging my Mom for years to help me get an agent, I finally wore her down...

(thank god for Moms who give into their daughter’s wild dreams!)

For the last 20 years, I’ve done almost everything a person can do in this biz: editor of multiple music publications, marketing consultant to independent artists, songwriter, live concert videographer, artist manager, demo singer, choreographer, TV host, emcee, Manager of National Promotions, creative director and marketing director.

I’ve had the privilege of working with organizations such as: Sony Music, MTV, CMT, Pickler + Ben, CCM Magazine/Salem Publishing, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and Starstruck Entertainment just to name a few… but mostly, I’m a dreamer, artist, mother and believer that we can have our careers + babies too...

And it’s led me to spend the last 8 years of my life studying the trends in online entrepreneurship and distilling a system that helps artists’ achieve the same 6 and 7 figure incomes that only a handful of indie’s have achieved so far.

I’ve had the privilege of working with, writing with and consulting with artists as varied as Lionel Richie, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Griffin House, Kenny Rogers, Kellie Pickler, Natalie Hemby, Eric Paslay, DQ, Third Day, Emily Ann Roberts, Morgan Myles, Minka Kelley, Dan Haseltine and Savannah Outen.

Together with my music + video producer husband, we’ve hosted numerous, live artist development events in Nashville, NYC and LA and I am also the founder of one of the fastest growing membership communities of female artists, TRIBE.

I’ve been invited to speak at numerous events and organizations as well as judge talent contests for many festivals and artist workshops.

I currently coach a private group of female artists + musicians from all over the country to build their own full time career…

And I absolutely love seeing them grow and succeed!
But It Wasn't Always Like This...
I personally understand what it’s like to want and to dream of success but to think that...maybe, I don’t have what it takes.

Maybe, I’m not the right age…

Maybe I can’t do this with kids in tow…

Maybe I don’t have enough “contacts”...

I always wanted to be a successful female musicpreneur...to earn what I knew I was worth.

I wanted to impact thousands of people’s lives for the better through my art and my message.

And I wanted to create a lifestyle for myself and my family that we loved.

But, that wasn’t my reality.

When I moved to Nashville at 21, I was young, beautiful...and terrified.

The first time my husband asked me to sing for him when we were still dating, I started crying...I was so intimidated by his talent and ability and so unsure of mine…

I started interning at a non-profit for indie artists where I was told I was going to be “the first” artist they were going to launch. I was walked into meetings with producers like Scott Hendricks (Faith Hill, Deana Carter), David Z (Prince, Etta James) and Frank Lidell (Miranda Lambert)...

I was being pitched songs that Taylor Swift herself had written…

And then I was abruptly dropped.

I was 22 and had no GPS for how to navigate the music industry and become an “artist”...

And back then, in order to ‘make it’, you were still expected to pursue a record deal.

But, I was a broke newlywed, in a town that valued songwriting and I couldn’t play any instruments… how would I write a song?

I remember driving my car on empty to an interview at a restaurant hoping I would make it there and back before running out of gas…

Or canceling Valentines plans with my husband because we checked our account right as we were leaving, only to find we were overdrawn and payday wasn’t for another week…

Pretty intense right?

It seemed so overwhelming and risky at the start… I just wanted to sing and perform on stage- but I didn’t know how to create a record, or build an audience, or pitch to labels and my husband and I could not for the LIFE of us agree on how to pursue music together.

I kinda got to the point where I thought, maybe this isn’t for me?

Maybe I just don’t have what it takes.

Maybe I’m not talented enough.

Maybe I’m just...not...enough…

I didn’t come from money, I didn’t have connections or networks.

So, I gave up and took a job.

At a music magazine…

It was 2010, and the magazine had gone digital because they couldn’t afford to keep it in print after the music industry crash of ‘08… so they hired me to try and recoup revenue by selling digital ads to indie artists…

It was a terrible idea… but working there opened my eyes to how much MONEY was made when you grow digital audiences, and it hit me.

Artists could be earning these massive incomes too, if they were simply willing to approach their music careers in an entirely different way.

And I’m not talking about a silver bullet or short term hack kind of way…

I’m talking about…
A Whole Different Way Of Building A Music Career…
By 2010, it was obvious that record deals were not only unnecessary, but they were not even in the best interest of the artist (and never really were, but that’s a whole other bottle of wine)...

The digital age had opened up a whole new world of marketing tools and access to fans that artists had never had before. Ever.

Problem was, most artists were still taking their cues from the traditional label system and their social media marketing was just falling flat.

They struggled to grow their audience, find their ideal superfans and they weren’t making any money…

Even the signed, label artists who DID have audiences, were still losing money, in giant debt to their label, and had to keep booking more shows, spending MORE time on the road, just to break even… because they didn’t know how to monetize their audience.

The major labels and managers didn’t know what to do either…

I sat in countless radio meetings, sneakily checking up on the websites of the artists on our roster only to find that they were missing KEY marketing features, that all the most successful online businesses were using to grow their incomes into high 6 and 7 figures in 24 months or less… and this was 2015!

As recently as last summer I sat with a manager of one of Country music’s brightest new female artists’ (with over 300K followers on IG alone) as he proceeded to tell me he “doesn’t see social media as a place to monetize. Only a place to brand.”

...I nearly fell outta my chair.

What he doesn’t know, is he was losing his artist an additional $50K per month in revenue AT A MINIMUM, because he wasn’t monetizing her online audience…

The reason I’m sharing this with you is because I don’t want you to go through what I went through, or be another “starving artist” statistic, or tell your kids: “I would’ve done music, but then I became a mom” :(

You’re here listening to me now, as an artist desperately wanting to create more freedom to live the life you've imagined.

Perhaps you’re already a full time artist but you know you could be earning 10, 20 and 30K months consistently, but you can't figure out how to get there...

Perhaps you're an artist that can't seem to figure out how to drop the day job once and for all and go full time...

You know where you are and probably where you want to be…

BUT!
Do You Know How To Get There?
The truth is, there is A LOT to learn…

Especially when it comes to growing your music business.

Things like:
  • How to communicate WHO you are as an artist, so potential fans will immediately fall in love, before they even hear the music!
  •  How to identify who your ideal superfan is (the KEY to making a full time living as an artist)
  •  Releasing high quality content, consistently without going broke and actually recouping your investment!
  •  Streamlining your marketing so you don’t feel like you’ve become a social media manager instead of an artist
  •  How to triple, quadruple or quintuple your audience in 3 mos
  •  How to effectively monetize your audience without constantly promoting or “selling”
  •  How to keep your audience engaged so your income stays consistent, despite how much music you’re able to release
  •  Finding legal counsel you can trust
  •  How to use paid advertising effectively so you’re not just throwing money into Facebook’s toilet
WOW.

It’s kinda overwhelming, right?

For those who decided to brave it (and are still braving it today) it kinda feels like a jigsaw puzzle with SO many pieces to put together…

Without knowing what the pieces were or even where they were hiding…

If you currently feel like this and are struggling with overwhelm…

I can guarantee I have felt the same way.

BUT…

What I discovered was all it took was…
Having ONE Great Strategy…
To completely transform things.

A strategy tailored to your specific career, situation and goals for your music business…

To help you get from where you are to where you want to be.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but this path was not just a strategy, it was
a total transformation...
The Ultimate Shortcut To Go From Frustrated To Freedom :)
Once I learned that building a successful music biz was more than just implementing strategy, it was about helping artists transform their lives...

I have been able to help hundreds of artists connect to their true value, build careers they are excited about and feel deeply aligned with.

Because, music is really so much more than touring, recording and radio play.

It's about relationship, a shared experience, healing, transformation...

And that's why you're doing this.

Not because you need another "music marketing plan", but because you want to move people.

Here are just a few testimonials I have received recently from clients:
"Lindsey is authentic and gets to know you as a human so you can best communicate who YOU are as an artist. She understands and illuminates that artist marketing is not about creating an 'image', but is more about effectively sharing who you are and why you create, so that your image is authentic to who you are, which ultimately allows for a deeper connection with fans."
-Kacie Grenon, Boston Recording Artist

"Lindsey's input has been right on the money. She's super sharp and a joy to work with. Her ability to understand both the artistic and business side of the industry brings real value and insight to the table." -Griffin House, Nashville Recording Artist

"Having the opportunity to work with Lindsey has been life changing for me. She has so much knowledge about the music industry and really understands how the digital age of music is changing not only the industry, but also how its changing to give the artist full reign over their career, so they can be creatively free."
- Mikka Sheley, Nashville Recording Artist

This Opportunity Is NOT For Everyone.
I'm gonna be real with you...

I can only help a specific type of artist through this process...

So, in order for me to help, you need to meet this fairly stringent (but achievable) criteria.

First, you need to be a legitimate artist who has created a business and brand for themselves (even if it's small)! Some of my clients who have had the biggest transformations have started with audiences under 1K…

That means no gigging singers (wedding/event singers for hire, cover bands for corporate events, etc.) and no artists that are so brand-new you have never played live or have virtually no digital presence.

The next criteria is you need to be already “creating”.

You need to have some level of momentum in your career.

Which means you are already releasing music or have music that is written and can be released, even if it’s not professionally recorded yet.

The next criteria is you need to understand that as an indie artist, you are in fact a musicpreneur, and therefore a business owner.

Which means you understand that in order to build and grow a business it takes an investment of both time and money and you’re capable of doing both.

I'm looking for women who are committed to making their dream a reality. I can only help women who are ready to take action and are willing to push through their fear.

If that is not you, (and I say this with ALL the love) you are going to have a very difficult time building a profitable career as an artist and we are likely  not a match.

Because most importantly… you understand that your success is based on one factor: you.
Here's What You Need To Do Next...
If this sounds like you, now its your turn to decide…
